The US Supreme Court has recently overturned the ban on sports betting. In addition, the Department of Justice has allowed states to regulate the Internet for purposes of gambling. Earlier this year, the Fifth Circuit held that the Wire Act applies to all forms of Internet gambling, even though the Department of Justice had previously concluded that the act only applied to digital wagering.

Online gaming is becoming increasingly popular. It has been legal in several European countries, such as France and Belgium, but it is still illegal in many other countries. The US Supreme Court has ruled against the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992.
